On tiktok I’ve seen a video saying that in Islam when u judge someone for doing a sin , allah will make u do said sin before u die. I dunno if its true tbh but i got scared for the longest time to judge people. But sometimes I actually couldn’t help myself am human after all. Took me time to figure out the difference between judging and holding someone accountable for their mistakes. And I think (maybe wrong) is that what you meant to deliver specially the situation between ur mom and uncle.
Yes yes that's what I meant with the uncle situation. He had stolen money from my mother and I think my mom should have been honest with him that he had been dishonest.
i agree i also think being able to talk about bad behaviour and when mistakes are made actually allows people to get the language needed to express their own disappoint with other people or even themselves. last year i struggled with the fact that i had made mistakes i didn't think i was capable of making and yet i had made them. i dont think i'm a bad person but i do have the capacity to run wild without thinking about consequences and it took a while for me to get out fo the idea that people are either good or bad. i've always been opposed to this idea that people are one thing and thats just it. i agree with you i think i sit somewhere in the middle but leaning more towards the idea that we all have it within us to be either our best or worst self. also the idea of what is good / bad starts to get a bit grey when we think about things that are good for us and perhaps not so good for other people (cancelling on plans because of health for example) obviously doing this in the name of looking out for you and not making an effort to make up to the people who have been inconvenienced ends up being a whole other converstaion- just realised im rambling now lol. essentially i agree with what you're saying and loved the way you pieced your thoughts together!
Thank you for sharing. Mistakes really are mistakes, we shouldn't beat ourselves up over them. However, if the mistakes hurt people, we should be able to take accountability and grow from them. I appreciate the rumbling lol thank you for reading
"The things that predominantly occupy your mind are what make you. A person who often says unkind things often has similar unkind thoughts. A marathon runner predominantly thinks about their training nutrition and all related things. If you’re a poet, a chunk of your thoughts are poetry-related, from rhymes to seeking how to artistically articulate your feelings and the world around you. So in that regard, we are the things that often preoccupy our minds. You can not be a confident person when the majority of your thoughts are self-deprecating."
Exactly 💯
Negative addictions and habits feed on themselves. We can nurture negative habits, rather then resist them, to the detriment of ourselves and others.
A bird can fly over our head but we don't have to let it build a nest there.
We have to know our weak spots as well as we know the talents we've been given.
I absolutely agree we can nurture habits good or bad we have to be intentional about which ones we want to bloom. We are responsible for our own actions. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts

Also the word judge had a negative connotation it's not always bad but I understand where you're coming from

Yes! Agree some people are just bad why hide it from them! Bring back some shame! Like don’t not have a moral compass?!
Shame definitely has its place in society
You're welcome and thank you.
